Born in Twickenham and tested on the muddy paths of the South East, Barkridges® was founded to solve the "awkward shape" problem. While our signature harnesses are the foundation of our collection, we apply the same rigorous engineering to our leads, collars, and walking essentials, ensuring a seamless experience for both ends of the lead.

The Innovative Neck-Buckle Design
We are proud pioneers of the neck-buckle dog harness in the UK. Most standard harnesses must be pulled over a dog's head, which can be stressful for head-shy or nervous pups. Our harnesses (and our collars!) clip securely and comfortably, allowing for a snugger, more tailored fit. This makes our gear some of the most secure dog harnesses available.

A Shetland pony shouldn't wear a cart horse saddle. Generic "one size fits all" designs often cause armpit chafing or restrictive movement. Whether you are choosing one of our harnesses or a perfectly proportioned collar, we focus on the "elbow room" and skeletal alignment of your dog. Our gear anchors exactly where it should, providing a perfect fit for everything from Dobermans and Weimaraners to Bulldogs and Labradors.

We don’t believe durability should be bulky, nor should lightweight gear be flimsy. Every item in our range—from our industrial-grade leads to our eco-friendly dog poo bags—is built for the "real dog" life:
For the Powerhouses: We use heavy-duty webbing and reinforced "Box X" stitching that can handle the strongest of pullers.
For the Small Breeds: We’ve designed "barely there" lightweight gear that offers total security without weighing down a smaller dog.
